The Boomtown Run operates under the umbrella of  the Boomtown Days Festival.  It is organized by an executive committee and several sub-committees made up of very special people from within the Joplin area business community.

The first Boomtown Run was in 2003.  Although the course, sponsors and participants have changed, the goal of the Boomtown Run has not. It was and still is to promote healthy lifestyles.
